ABC has found the secret to summer Sunday success, and it's a blast from the past.
The Disney-owned network has renewed all its retro Sunday game show The $100,000 Pyramid, new entertainment president Channing Dungey announced Thursday at the Television Critics Association's summer press tour.
The classic game show airs in a three-hour block on Sundays and has helped the network improve its fortunes on the night during the typically lower-rated summer period.
Pyramid, hosted by Michael Strahan, bowed with a 1.7 rating among adults 18-49 and nearly 8 million viewers, making it the most watched Big Four telecast of the night and now it will be back for a second season.
